10th August - Wolverine Claws

I went to see the new Wolverine film the other night, the best thing about the entire film was the post credit sequence, Its actually the only thing I remember about the whole film, I did thoroughly enjoy it but just think the 2 minutes of extra footage at the end was the best bit. Anyway I was inspired to make these Wolverine claws, I had a go with a few designs and was not too happy but eventually found a YouTube tutorial for these ones here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idgqo61r-dg.

5th April - Sword

Normally I really dislike making swords for kids at parties, generally I try and avoid it like the plague, they ARE very quick to make but the child will grab it, run off with it and have a fight with it, then popping the sword and you end up with tears. However if the sword is going to be hung on the wall and admired as a form of art then I do not mind so much, and here is one of my swords hung on the wall as a form of art.

This sword is not a typical type of sword, I was inspired to make it after seeing Pascal Grooten's swords on his website. There are 4 balloons in this model, all 260s, 1 red, 1 blue, 1 yellow and 1 silver.  It took me a while to work out the handle with this one, it looks simple but when you think about it, its not, this is actually a combination of twists and bubbles, if you want to know how I did it then ask me.

29th January - Chainsaw

I was inspired to do this the other week when I heard a radio advert for the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre film (it will be a favourite for all the kids).
Its made from 7 balloon, 2 grey 160s make up the chain, a black 350 makes up the chain guide bar, 2 orange 260s make up the main section and then 2 black or brown 160s make up the handles.
