13th August - Ellie the Labrador
This balloon is based on Ellie, a lovely Labrador who attended Chris and Amy's wedding, Ellie was amazinly well behaved and she is such a wonderful dog, I had been thinking of making Ellie into a balloon and then I had a message from her mum asking if I could do it, how could I resist?
Ellie the Balloon Labrador is made from 7 balloons, the muzzle is made from a 350, the tail is a 160, the rest is made from 260 balloons. 19th July - Two Hundred
Today marks the 200th day of 2013 and my 200th balloon sculpture, I wanted to do something a bit more spectacular but its currently the last week of school so I am spending the week doing school shows, also its the hottest summer EVER and my sculptures are not really playing ball in these temperatures, the room I usually make balloons in reached over 40 degrees Celsius recently so at the moment my sculptures are short and hopefully sweet. Anyway, thanks for continuing to follow my balloons and if anyone would like to help me celebrate by sharing My Daily Balloon with their friends then I would appreciate that a LOT.
This Sculpture would normally be made from 7 balloons, however I cheated and made it from just 3 and a little scrap of balloon, I first made the number 2, then used a scrap to join it to a geo base, then I photographed it on the bench and took it to bits, next I made a lilac 0 and fixed it to the same geo base, then I photographed it on the bench twice in different places, finally I imported all the pictures into photoshop and joined them all together to look like 1 picture, finally I changed the colour of the last 0 to make it look different and removed all the back ground colour to make all the numbers stand out.

5th July - Hummingbird
I was surfing the internet wondering what to make and I came across this Youtube video from Becky Thompson - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJnbzXLjVac, Becky was unsure as to whether a hummingbird has a tail, they do indeed have beautiful colourful tails which they use for balance while hovering, so I gave mine a bit of a different tail to the one Becky makes. This hummingbird was made from 5 x 160 balloons (the flower was another 2).

26th May - Peppa Pig
I recently had a special request on Facebook, the request
was for a Peppa Pig for a little girls birthday today. I don’t actually know
the name of the little girl but I think she will know who she is.
Peppa here is made from 7 balloons, the head is a heart
shaped balloon and the rest is made from 160 balloons. I am currently in
Birmingham attending a 2 day balloon event so I actually made this Peppa Pig on
Monday, however I saw someone make an awesome and different Peppa Pig today so
I may make that one later in the year.

16th May - Turtle
I have been wanting to make a turtle for a while, I have had a play around with a few designs and came up with this, its made from 7 balloons but might be able to get away with only using 5 next time.
This one has 2 blush 260s and 2 mocha 260s in the shell, then I added the head and back flippers with a green 260 and the eyes are a white 260, finally the front flippers are another green 260.

19th April - Whale
I make this whale quite often at various parties, he seems to be quite popular, he is made from 7 balloons, this includes the base which makes him self standing, when I make him at parties I usually only use 5 balloons.
I start with 2 x 350 balloons then add in the fins which are a 260, next I add the water spout which is made from 2 x white 260s and finally the base is added from a 260 and a 350. There is another secret ingredient which makes him self standing but I will let you work that out for yourselves.

11th April - Dalmatian
Today is day number 101 and what better animal to make today than 101 dalmatians (the other 100 are hiding off camera).
This dalmatian is made from 7 balloons and is a Dylan Gelinas design, Dylan uses brown balloons to make his into a normal dog so I switched the brown balloons for the white to make it a dalmatian.

21st March - Puma
I recently received an email from Simon who had a request for me to make a puma for his wife Fleur, this is a tough challenge as its really difficult to make the face look right but I had a go at it anyway, and I took inspiration from a photograph of a puma leaping through the air.
This Puma is made from 7 balloons, all of them 260s, I started with his head which was 1 balloon, then added his body and neck with another, the next balloon was his arms, then his legs are made from 2 balloons, the last things to add were his tail and finally his eyes.
As I say it was quite a challenge and I will have another go as a puma in the future as I have some other ideas about the face, thanks for the request Simon, I hope Fleur liked it.

Simon also requested some videos of my balloon modelling and I will be doing some of those in the near future so watch this space.
On another note you will see I have started watermarking my photos as I recently found someone in the USA using my Calvin and Hobbes photo on their website.

10th March - A Bear Holding a Heart
This cute bear was taught to me by Balloonatic Kevin from Weymouth, he kindly shared his balloon wisdom at a recent balloon modelling event so thank you Kevin.
Bear is made from 7 balloons, I started with a 350 for his ears, part of his face and his torso, then I added a small piece of a 260 and a round balloon, next I added the eyes, His legs are made from another 350 and his arms another 260, finally I added in a heart balloon.
Both my own Mum and Nats Mum (Annie) got one of these each for Mothers day today.

28th February - Calvin and Hobbes
It is the last day of the month and that means I have done a bigger balloon model, recently I found out that both Ron and I like the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes, it follows the antics of Calvin, an adventurous 6 year old boy and his stuffed pet tiger Hobbes.
I wanted to base my Calvin and Hobbes on a well known picture of them, this can be seen here.
I started with Hobbes first and made his face (which I am not happy pleased with but its ok), then his body, arms, hands, legs and finally his ears and tail. Next was Calvin, first I made his body and arms, then his hands and little shorts and trousers, finally his head and hair.

Hobbes took me well over an hour to make and Calvin probably took me about 30-40 minutes.
It took me another 45 mins to photograph them and then another 1-2 hours to draw the log and Photoshop them into the scene so in total this 1 Balloon model took me nearly 5 hours over the course of 2 days to make. Hobbes is made from 14 balloons and Calvin from 7 balloons, a mixture of 260s, 160s and 350s, a 160 is a balloon that is 1 inch diameter and 60 inches long, a 260 balloon is 2 inches diameter and 60 inches long.

15th February - Toucan
Here is a Toucan, he is a bit of an experiment, I have seen a few balloon toucan pictures and they never look like a toucan and I think it is important that a balloon toucan should look like a toucan. I have tried my best to get is looking right but I am still not too sure, I needs a bit of work, does it look like a toucan?
Anyway, he is made from 7 balloons, plus an extra one for the perch, he is made from a mixture of 160 and 260 balloons and took me about half an hour as I was making it up and did several different things before arriving at this.
Here is a joke - What do you call 3 Toucans? (answer below)

31st January - Little Horse
Nat suggested to me that the last day of each month should be saved for a big balloon model, This Horse really is this big, I promise its not been photo-shopped, Its made up of balloons sized 646 (6 inches x 46 inches). There are 7 balloons in this model, 4 in the body, then 2 x 260s to make up the mane and finally a 160 for the reins.
I took this to a show and gave it to a little girl, she was so pleased with it however I do wonder how she got on with getting it home.

19th January - Panda
Here is the first of a couple of Pandas I can make, I think this is a favourite, its made of just 1 balloon . . . . . no not really, that is just silly, would you believe it is made of 7 balloons, a mixture of white 260s, black 260s, a white 350 for the nose and part of the face, a beige 160 for the bamboo and a green 160 for the leaves.
