Here is a fishy on a hairband blowing bubbles (the fish is blowing bubbles, not the hairband), He is made from 5 balloons, I wanted the base to be 2 colours but I could have made that out of just 1 balloon if need. 6th August - Heart
I had such a nice weekend its such a shame for it to be over, on Saturday 2 of my friends got married and I was the best man, it was such a nice occasion and it was amazing to see 2 people so happy together, after that I was inspired to make this heart for them, This is a design I saw Graham make on his balloon forum and this is the first time I have made it, I am very pleased with how it came out.
The heart is made from 5 x 260 balloons, it looks really complicated, in actual fact once you get started and see the individual components that make it up its not too bad. If you would like instructions on how to make this then ask me and I will send you a link. 24th July - Mr Tall
There is a Birthday to celebrate today, its the birthday of Sean Lobban (aka The Amazing Mister Tall). Sean is a balloon modeller and I have ballooned with him on many occasions. To help celebrate Sean's birthday I have made Mr Tall from the Mr Men books, Happy Birthday Sean.
Mr Tall here is made 5 balloons, I made his body first from a round balloon and put in 2 raisin twists for the arms which are a 160, the legs are also a 160 and are joined onto the knot in the round balloon, his feet are a 160 and the base is a sand filled round balloon.

5th July - Hummingbird
I was surfing the internet wondering what to make and I came across this Youtube video from Becky Thompson - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJnbzXLjVac, Becky was unsure as to whether a hummingbird has a tail, they do indeed have beautiful colourful tails which they use for balance while hovering, so I gave mine a bit of a different tail to the one Becky makes. This hummingbird was made from 5 x 160 balloons (the flower was another 2).

27th June - Lobster
The last few days I have been in Halesowen in Birmingham for a 2 day balloon event, it was brilliant and I learnt so much new stuff, it was not just new sculptures for me to make but also for some new twisting techniques. the highlight for me was the David Grist Memorial Lecture by Antonio Becarus from Spain.
One of the things Antonio taught us was the pinch line technique and I have used it in this sculpture of a lobster. I am not going to tell you what part of the sculpture is made using the pinch line technique but if your familiar with balloon modelling then you can probably work out which bit it is. Antonio was an excellent teacher and I thank you for sharing your knowledge.
My Lobster is made from 3 x 260s plus 2 bits of scrap balloon. I used 2 balloons for the tail and then 1 for the body and pincers, the bits of scrap balloon were used for the eyes.

26th May - Seagull
This Seagull was shown to me by Tony last week and I really liked him, I added an extra balloon to give the body a bit more shape and a bit of a different tail too, thanks Tony.
He is made from 4 balloons (5 is you count the brown post he is standing on), a white 260, a white 160, a grey 260 and a yellow 160.
Coming up on June 2nd, I will be doing a live balloon sculpture at the Aspex Gallery in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth, it is to help celebrate the Camp Bestival Around the World Tour, between the hours of 11am and 2pm I will be creating my biggest sculpture of the year so far (at nearly 6 feet across and 5 feet tall, eeek) there will be lots of other activities taking place in the gallery and I will update you on those nearer the time.

8th May - Motorbike Two
I have to thank Mr Boma from Mr Boma's Balloons for todays sculpture, This really awesome motorbike is not too difficult to make and really looks the part, you can also check out Mr Boma's facebook page by going here - https://www.facebook.com/MrBomasBalloons or visit his website here - http://mrbomasballoons.com
In the tutorial Mr Boma makes his out of grey, for some reason I used silver, In the tutorial the handle bars are made from 160s and when I got to making those I realised I didn't have any silver 160s so I had to use a 260 instead, when I make it in the future I will the handle bars from a 160 as I think they will look better slightly smaller.
The Motorbike is made from 5 balloons, 1 black 260, 1 red 260, 3 silver 260s. You can follow My Daily Balloon several other ways Facebook -www.facebook.com/mydailyballoon and hit the 'like' button

24th April - Caterpillar
What a cute and happy little fellow this caterpillar is, he likes nothing more than to roam around the plants in my garden and scare the neighbours.
He is made from 5 balloons, all of them are 260s, he has one balloon to make the inner core and head, another 2 to make the outer body, then another for the eyes and another for the antennas.

21st April - Ducky
This duck is made from just 5 balloons and is pretty quick to make, its made from 3 yellow 260 balloons, 1 orange 260 and a little bit of white 260. I started with the head, neck and beak then I added on the eyes, next I made the body and finally added on the legs. I have been experimenting with drawing different types of eyes recently too, instead of just a round black blob I have tried to add a bit of character.

19th April - Whale
I make this whale quite often at various parties, he seems to be quite popular, he is made from 7 balloons, this includes the base which makes him self standing, when I make him at parties I usually only use 5 balloons.
I start with 2 x 350 balloons then add in the fins which are a 260, next I add the water spout which is made from 2 x white 260s and finally the base is added from a 260 and a 350. There is another secret ingredient which makes him self standing but I will let you work that out for yourselves.

2nd April - Owl Three
This is the third owl I have made, I had several comments about the last owl I made on 20th Feb , some people seemed to think it looked nothing like an owl, I have since been told it does look like an owl, but enough of that owl and on to this one.
This owl is totally my invention, It is made from 8 balloons in total, 5 balloons for the owl and 3 balloons for the branches, the owl is made from gold 260 balloons, 1 yellow 260, a black 260 and a white round balloon.
The branch is a 350, a 260 and a 160 with the help from a few special twists to join them together.

31st March - Goat
Its Florrie's birthday today, she recently requested that I make her a guinea pig or a goat, I made a guinea pig the other day so today I have made a goat.
This Goat is made from 5 balloons, there are 2 x brown 260s, 1 x grey 160, 1 tiny bit of black and a tiny bit of white. I actually use left over scraps of balloon instead of a whole balloon for some of the parts so although I did need 5 balloons to make this model, I actually only used 3 and 2 scraps.
Happy Birthday Florrie x

13th March - Anchor
Living in a very nautical city I have been asked to make an anchor once or twice in the past, usually when I am working in the dock yard or in any nautical themed location. This anchor is made from various different sized balloon, firstly I took a black 260 sized balloon and made the ring ring at the top, then worked my way down to the bottom, adding another 260 for the arms and another fir the cross section at the top. The rope is a brown 160 sized balloon and the grey rings are also a 160.
Finally I made the outer ring, using 1 yellow and 1 blue 160 sized balloon I spiraled them together and used another blue 160 to join them together at the bottom.

2nd February - Groundhog
Its Groundhog day and news just in is that Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow, this means Spring will arrive early this year (woohoo).
So I was a little unsure as to exactly what I groundhog looks like other than an over grown guinea pig. I did manage to find a photo here so based him on that.
He is made up of a multitude of balloons, but don't ask me how many or what kind as I was kind of making it up as I was going, I can tell you he took me about 15 mins to make, by looking at him I think its 2 x 260s, 1 x 350, 1 x 160 and a scrap of black for the nose plus a scrap of white for the eyes and teeth.
